Co-presented by Out In Schools and The Cinematheque, The Future is Queer: Youth Programs at VQFF is two days of FREE youth programs that will increase young people’s access to transformative 2SLGBTQIA+ stories and support educators in building core competencies in many related subject areas.
L&O Director Chelsea Birks will be your guide through the seedy underbelly of film noir, introducing Anthony Mann’s T‑Men with a thirty-minute presentation on the history, cultural influences, and aesthetic markers of Hollywood’s most cynical film cycle.

A hands-on filmmaking activity and contest inspired by the “Godzilla: King of Kaiju” Halloween series. The six completed films preceded a Film Club screening of Luca in January 2024.
Prompted by our 2023 Guy Maddin retrospective, participants made silent-era inspired films that embraced the weirdest aspects of early cinema aesthetics.
