Visit The Cinematheque

September 8, 2021

Effective September 13, and in accordance with public health regulations, all patrons (12+) will need to show proof of vaccination to attend a screening at The Cinematheque. More details about this can be found here.

The theatre currently has a reduced capacity of 78 or less. All patrons are required to wear a mask if they are able. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. We ask that patrons maintain at least one seat distance between their party and other guests when selecting seats.

A comprehensive outline of our health and safety protocols can be found here.

Cinematheque Membership

By purchasing a ticket to a screening at The Cinematheque, you automatically become a member of the Pacific Cinémathèque Pacifique Society.

The Cinematheque is recognized as an exempt non-profit film society under the B.C. Motion Picture Act, and as such is able to screen films that have not been reviewed by Consumer Protection BC. Under this act, all persons attending our screenings must be members of the Pacific Cinémathèque Pacifique Society and be 18 years of age or older. We are responsible for operating in compliance with both the B.C. Motion Picture Act and Consumer Protection BC.

Some films will be exempt from the membership requirement, meaning patrons under 18 may be able to attend. This will be noted with a Consumer Protection BC classification on the individual event descriptions in our Program Guide and/or on this website.
