Visit The Cinematheque
Update: January 7, 2021
In observance of the updated provincial health orders, The Cinematheque theatre will remain closed for in-person screenings until further notice.
This closure is temporary. We look forward to seeing you all back in the theatre soon, but for now stay healthy and enjoy our virtual screening options from the comforts of home.

The Cinematheque is recognized as an exempt non-profit film society under the B.C. Motion Picture Act, and as such is able to screen films that have not been reviewed by Consumer Protection BC. Under this act, all persons attending our screenings must be members of the Pacific Cinémathèque Pacifique Society and be 18 years of age or older. We are responsible for operating in compliance with both the B.C. Motion Picture Act and Consumer Protection BC.
Some films will be exempt from the membership requirement, meaning patrons under 18 may be able to attend. This will be noted with a Consumer Protection BC classification on the individual event descriptions in our Program Guide and/or on this website.

The theatre is wheelchair accessible and has four wheelchair positions with adjacent companion seats. If you have a disability and require assistance in attending a screening, we are happy to provide your companion with a complimentary ticket. You can notify us in advance via phone or email, or speak to someone at our Box Office when you arrive.
Our restrooms are single stall, all gender restrooms. Everyone is welcome.
Discounted tickets are available for students and seniors (65+). We make complimentary tickets available to a range of community groups and organizations for individuals who face financial and other barriers to attending our screenings. Please contact us if you think your group or organization could benefit from this.
Assistive Listening Systems are available from our Box Office free of charge. A signal is fed directly from our audio system to the supplied hearing assistance device. The user of the device can adjust the volume to suit their needs. Please get in touch if you would like more information.
