In Person: Jason DaSilva

Winner of an Emmy for Outstanding Informational Programming, When I Walk is an intimate autobiographical documentary that follows filmmaker Jason DaSilva after he is diagnosed with a severe form of multiple sclerosis at age 25. Over the course of several years, Jason turns the camera on himself as his mobility changes and he learns to navigate a world that is often physically inaccessible. The film follows his determination to remain independent, continue making films, and maintain a full creative and personal life as his disability progresses. Candid, personal, and often humorous, When I Walk is a story about adaptation, identity, resilience, and redefining what independence can mean.
