Featured in the New Directors section at the 67th San Sebastián International Film Festival, Ignas Jonynas’s second feature is a daring, stylish film about love, betrayal, and revenge. Once a rising star in the world of contemporary dance, Jonas is now well past his prime. Undaunted, he sets up a cunning strategy to reignite his career. Dreaming of new fame, he pretends to be blind in order to bluff his way onto a popular TV dance show. All are impressed at the amazing performance of this blind” dancing phenomenon. Meanwhile, an old acquaintance of Jonas, Vytas, is released from jail. Having served time for his wife’s murder, and hungry for revenge, Vytas is convinced he isn’t solely responsible for his wife’s death, and Jonas, her former lover, also shares the guilt. Now, Vytas is coming after Jonas for payback. With its jigsaw puzzle narrative structure and its assured, rigorous visual design, Invisible is an idiosyncratic, artsy thriller.

This virtual screening includes a pre-recorded Q&A with Invisible director Ignas Jonynas.
