Fifteen year-old Klemen admires his older brother Peter. Raised by a single mother in a small town, Peter and Klemen are not only siblings and best friends, but also both dedicated tennis players who dream of escaping their surroundings and becoming world champions. The two are inseparable; that is, until Peter falls in love with Sonja. As Peter spends more and more time with her, Klemen grows alienated, angry, and soon begins plotting to foil the love affair and reclaim his relationship with his brother. Complicating matters further, Klemen is also becoming increasingly obsessed with Sonja’s beauty and sensuality. As his schemes grow more and more reckless, Klemen will have to face the consequences that his increasingly desperate actions are having on his family and the community. Spare and poetic, this coming-of-age story combines psychological intensity, simmering eroticism, and a sensitive, insightful portrait of the passionate confusions of adolescence.
