A seismic cultural revolution in the avant-garde and multidisciplinary arts transformed sleepy Vancouver in the late 1960s and into the 1970s—including a major wave of cinematic innovation that established Canada’s West Coast as an international hub for experimental film. Featuring interviews with many of the key players (David Rimmer among them), Richard Martin’s entertaining documentary celebrates a dynamic scene that created an enduring body of work, inspired new generations of artists, and was instrumental in the founding of several Vancouver cultural institutions (including The Cinematheque).
