In a world that moves faster every day, places like ours matter more than ever—spaces where we slow down, gather in the dark, and let cinema challenge, delight, and transform us. The Cinematheque has always been a home for artists, thinkers, and anyone who believes in the power of film to expand what we know and imagine.
If you’re receiving this email, chances are you spent time with us this year. Maybe you came to a screening, volunteered at our concession counter, or discovered a filmmaker you hadn’t encountered before. Maybe your child took part in one of our Learning & Outreach workshops. Perhaps you’re planning to spend part of your holiday break in our cinema, taking in the films of David Lynch.
However you connected with The Cinematheque this year, thank you. Those moments are exactly why we’re here. As the year comes to a close, we’re reaching out with a special opportunity to support this work.
Our Board of Directors has created a holiday matching fund of $6,000. Until December 31, every donation will be matched dollar for dollar, doubling the impact of your gift.
Your support helps us:
- champion bold, independent filmmaking and underrepresented voices
- preserve and present film history
- support local artists and emerging creators.
- keep our screens alive with work that might not be seen anywhere else
