Video Production Classroom Materials

Filmmaking in the classroom can be an incredibly rewarding experience! But it is also a daunting undertaking: filming, sound recording and editing equipment and software can be expensive, logistics can be complicated, and with little experience many groups find the experience difficult. Here you will find a wide variety of resources to help you with this process: a video guide, and PDF study guide for teachers, downloadable PDFs both new filmmakers, and of course all of the sample youth-produced videos available on our Cinematheque Vimeo page. Face BC is a collaborative project of The Cinematheque, the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Portrait Gallery of Canada, and the Multiculturalism program of Citizenship and Immigration Canada that presents a mosaic of British Columbia’s diversity and depth. Youth from across the province created digital video portraits of themselves, their families, their friends, and their communities in 2008 and 2009, that were then screened locally and at The Cinematheque.
