Whether we want to believe it or not, modern advertising is one of the most powerful, sophisticated and pervasive influencing forces in our lives.

 

Advertising as the way we know it now began in the 1920s and has been consistently evolving and increasing in frequency to the point that those of us in cities may be receiving up to 5,000 advertising messages per day and we cannot remember any other way.  This workshop looks at advertising as it has, or in some interesting ways, has not changed over the decades, and attempts to draw connections and discover the meanings behind them through comparison.
